- What if finding yourself was never about becoming someone new, but about returning to the part of you that was always there?
In this episode of Shine In & Out, Samantha Stoltz sits down with Serena Arora, yoga therapist, Ayurvedic health practitioner, and #1 international bestselling author of Unbound, for a deeply personal conversation about identity, conditioning, intuition, healing, and what it means to become truly unbound.
Born in Canada to a Chinese mother and Indian father, Serena spent much of her life navigating cultural expectations, identity, achievement, relationships, and the pressure to fit into versions of herself that did not always feel authentic.
Through decades of personal exploration, yoga, Ayurveda, nature, and inner work, she eventually realized that the answer she had been searching for outside herself had been within her all along.
Together, Samantha and Serena explore what happens when we begin peeling back the layers of conditioning and learn to listen to the wisdom already living within us.
From immigrant guilt and generational expectations to burnout, perfectionism, intuition, feminine wisdom, and the process of unbinding, this conversation asks a powerful question:
Who are you beneath everything you were taught to be?
✨ In This Episode:
• Serena’s nonlinear journey toward finding herself• Searching outside yourself for answers that already exist within• Cultural identity and growing up between worlds• Immigrant expectations and the weight of “immiguilt”• Letting go of the need to control your parents’ journey• Why success on paper does not always equal soul fulfillment• The bird and fish metaphor for love, compatibility, and living authentically• Recognizing when your environment no longer nourishes you• Ayurveda as a way of understanding yourself and living in harmony with nature• Burnout, overgiving, and learning to replenish yourself• Reconnecting with creativity, freedom, intuition, and feminine wisdom• Why trust begins with small decisions• The difference between knowing your intuition and actually practicing it• Generational fear and reconnecting with embodied wisdom• Nature, stillness, and the return to our humanity• Why perfectionism and people pleasing can become forms of self binding• What it means to become unbound• Parenting, projection, and allowing children to become who they are• Learning to see your body as a teammate rather than an obstacle• Why healing happens in the pause• Learning to have an ongoing conversation with your body

29.09.2026 | 1 Std. 7 Min.What if you understand exactly what is keeping you stuck, but still can't seem to change it?
In this conversation, Samantha Stoltz sits down with Mary Ann Robbat to explore the deeper patterns that can shape our choices, relationships, confidence, purpose, and sense of fulfillment.
Mary Ann works with successful, self aware women who have built meaningful lives but still feel stuck in one area. She calls these deeper patterns origin patterns, the beliefs and behaviors that can develop early in life and continue influencing us long after we have become conscious of them.
Together, Samantha and Mary Ann explore why awareness alone isn’t always enough to create change.
They talk about people pleasing, self care, intuition, purpose, boundaries, comparison, fulfillment, and what happens when we begin questioning the patterns we have been living from.
Mary Ann also shares her own journey from having what looked like a successful life on the outside to realizing that something deeper was missing. Through that process, she learned to reconnect with herself, trust her intuition, and create a life that felt more aligned with who she was becoming.
One of the central ideas in this conversation is simple:
You can recreate your life at any moment.
But doing so often means becoming willing to see the patterns that have been keeping you where you are.
Mary Ann’s Reveal, Release, Rewire, Rise approach offers a way to begin that process by identifying the pattern, releasing what no longer serves you, creating a new internal imprint, and stepping into a different possibility.
In This Conversation
• Why success doesn’t always lead to fulfillment• How childhood experiences can shape adult patterns• The connection between people pleasing and self abandonment• Why intuition can signal that something needs to change• Learning to make conscious choices for yourself• Why growth can create friction• Why awareness alone may not be enough• How origin patterns can keep us stuck• Mary Ann’s Reveal, Release, Rewire, Rise framework• What becomes possible when you begin living from a new pattern
A Question to Sit With
What pattern might be influencing your life today without you realizing it?
And what could change if you were willing to see it clearly?

22.09.2026 | 59 Min.What if personal style isn't really about clothes?
What if the way you dress can reveal something about your identity, your confidence, your beliefs, and even your relationship with being seen?
In this episode of Shine In & Out, Samantha Stoltz sits down with NYC-based fashion stylist and image consultant JenniLee, whose more than 20 years of experience have taken her behind the scenes of stages, shoots, sets, and major publications.
JenniLee has dressed celebrities and musicians including Rashida Jones, Scarlett Johansson, and Lana Condor, and has styled for Harper’s Bazaar, Rolling Stone, and Bloomingdale’s. Today, her work focuses on helping creative and ambitious women navigate major transitions, from career pivots and reinvention to stepping into greater visibility.
But this conversation goes much deeper than fashion.
JenniLee shares why she believes what you wear is never just fabric. It can become part of the relationship between identity, self-perception, and how we move through the world.
Samantha and JenniLee explore the stories we attach to clothing, the desire to belong, the fear of being seen, and what happens when we begin questioning the rules we have unconsciously inherited about how we are supposed to look.
They also explore JenniLee’s signature SPARK framework, beginning with self-exploration and asking deeper questions about why we make the style choices we make.
In This Conversation
• Why getting dressed can be about much more than appearance• How clothing can influence confidence and self-perception• The connection between personal style and identity• Why belonging can influence what we choose to wear• What happens when we become afraid of being seen• How personal beliefs shape our relationship with clothing• JenniLee’s SPARK framework and the importance of self-exploration• Why “More Styling, Less Shopping” can change the way you approach your closet• Dressing through career changes, reinvention, and new seasons of life• How intentional style can help us express who we are becoming
At its heart, this is a conversation about becoming more conscious of the person you’re already expressing.
Your closet can hold old identities, old expectations, old rules, and old versions of yourself.
But it can also become a place to experiment.
To play.
To reconnect.
To become visible again.
And sometimes, transformation starts with something as simple as getting dressed differently.
About JenniLee
JenniLee is a NYC-based fashion stylist and image consultant with more than 20 years of experience working with celebrities, musicians, creative professionals, and everyday women.
Her philosophy, “More Styling, Less Shopping,” focuses on helping clients dress from the inside out rather than trying to solve personal style through buying more clothes.
Through her signature SPARK framework, JenniLee helps clients explore their relationship with style, identity, perception, and personal transformation.

A Question To Sit With
What does your style say about who you are, and does it still reflect who you’re becoming?
If this conversation made you look at your closet, your identity, or your relationship with being seen differently, share your thoughts below.
Shine In & Out is about exploring the inner and outer work of becoming more fully yourself.

15.09.2026 | 1 Std. 26 Min.What if health is not about fixing separate parts of ourselves, but learning how the whole system works together?
We spend a remarkable amount of time trying to understand ourselves in pieces.
We have fitness for the body.Nutrition for what we eat.Therapy for the mind.Meditation for stillness.Spirituality for something deeper.
But what if these were never meant to be separate?
What if the body, brain, mind, and spirit are all communicating within one interconnected system?
That question sits at the heart of Umesh Chhikara’s work and his book, Wiring to Wisdom: A Guide to the Human Operating System.
In this conversation on Shine In & Out, Samantha Stoltz sits down with Umesh, a sports scientist, researcher, and author whose work brings together physiology, neuroscience, biomechanics, metabolism, psychology, movement, and spirituality.
His journey did not begin with a grand theory.
It began with questions.
Why were people getting injured while trying to become healthier? Why were people who seemed to be doing everything “right” still becoming sick? Why did understanding fitness lead to rehabilitation, then nutrition, then metabolic health, the cardiovascular system, and eventually the brain and mind?
One question kept leading to another.
And eventually, the separate pieces began to look less separate.
Health Is More Than the Absence of a Problem
One of the most interesting ideas in the conversation is the distinction between balance and equilibrium.
We often think health means keeping everything perfectly balanced. But human beings are not static systems. We are constantly adapting.
We move.We rest.We experience stress.We recover.We eat.We think.We respond to our environment.
Life is constantly placing demands on us, and our bodies are constantly responding.
Umesh describes health through this lens of equilibrium. Rather than obsessing over one isolated variable, we can begin asking a more useful question:
Is the whole system adapting well to what life is asking of it?
That changes the way we think about health.
Instead of constantly asking what we need to add, fix, optimize, or control, we can begin asking what our system is actually communicating.
Your Body Is Talking. Are You Listening?
At one point, the conversation turns toward something surprisingly simple: learning to listen to the body.
Samantha shares her own experience of realizing that rest was not the opposite of progress. For a long time, her instinct had been to keep going. Rest felt like wasted time.
But listening changed the equation.
Sometimes the body needs movement.
Sometimes it needs recovery.
Sometimes it needs challenge.
Sometimes it needs stillness.
The deeper lesson is not that one approach is always right. It is that health requires communication.
Your body is giving you information all the time.
The question is whether you have become so accustomed to outside voices that you can no longer hear it.
Social media tells us what to eat.
Fitness culture tells us how much to exercise.
Influencers tell us which supplements we need.
Experts tell us what our bodies should look like.
And somewhere underneath all of that noise is the body itself, still communicating.
Spirituality Is Not Separate From Health
This is where the conversation becomes especially interesting.
For Umesh, spirituality is not simply a religious practice or something added onto an otherwise healthy lifestyle.
It is part of understanding ourselves.
He describes spirituality as something to be lived rather than merely practiced.
That can mean learning to become still enough to observe your own thoughts.
Not every thought needs to become a command.
Not every craving needs to become an action.
Not every fear needs to become a decision.
There is a profound shift that happens when you can watch what is happening inside you without immediately identifying with it.
You begin to create space between the thought and the response.
And that space can change everything.
Meditation Is a Tool, Not the Destination
Umesh offers another perspective that challenges the way meditation is often presented.
Meditation can be incredibly useful, but he questions what happens when we treat it as something we simply do for a few minutes and then leave behind.
The purpose, in his view, is not merely to sit in a meditative state.
It is to learn something about how the mind works.
Then take that understanding into the rest of your life.
The real practice begins when you are no longer sitting quietly.
When someone frustrates you.
When anxiety appears.
When you want something immediately.
When your mind starts repeating an old story.
When a craving feels impossible to resist.
Can you remain conscious in those moments?
Can you observe what is happening instead of automatically becoming it?
That may be where meditation becomes less of a ritual and more of a way of living.
What We Restrict Can Become What We Obsess Over
The conversation eventually moves into food, restriction, cravings, and the relationship between the conscious and unconscious mind.
Umesh describes his own approach as flexible rather than restrictive.
He does not believe health requires creating endless lists of forbidden foods.
In fact, Samantha and Umesh explore how telling yourself that you can never have something can sometimes make the mind focus on that very thing even more.
There is an important distinction here.
Listening to yourself does not mean blindly giving the mind everything it asks for.
It means creating a conscious relationship with what is happening inside you.
You can acknowledge the desire.
You can understand where it is coming from.
You can decide what actually serves you.
That is very different from either rigid control or mindless indulgence.
It is communication.
It is awareness.
It is choice.
The Goal Is Not to Control Yourself. It Is to Understand Yourself.
This may be one of the most important ideas in the entire conversation.
So much of modern wellness is built around control.
Control your food.
Control your weight.
Control your schedule.
Control your thoughts.
Control your emotions.
Control your body.
But what if a healthier relationship with ourselves begins somewhere else?
Understanding.
What does your body need?
What does your mind tend to do under stress?
What patterns have you learned?
What beliefs are operating beneath your conscious awareness?
What is your environment asking of you?
What are you carrying that you no longer need?
The more clearly you understand the system, the less you may need to fight against it.
Befriend Your Soul
Near the end of the conversation, Umesh offers the idea that perhaps the first relationship we need to develop is the relationship with ourselves.
His advice is simple:
Befriend your soul.
Not in an abstract or mystical way.
Understand yourself.
Understand your needs.
Understand your problems.
Understand your mind.
Understand your culture.
Understand your environment.
Understand what is coming at you.
Then, he says, find your “soulmate in self.”
There is something powerful about that idea.
We spend so much of our lives trying to find the right answers outside ourselves.
The right diet.
The right workout.
The right expert.
The right routine.
The right philosophy.
But perhaps wisdom begins when we become curious enough about ourselves to understand the system we are actually living in.
What Does It Mean to Be Human?
That is ultimately the question Samantha and Umesh are exploring from different directions.
Not simply:
How do we become healthier?
But:
How do we understand what it means to be human?
Maybe the answer is not found by separating the body from the mind, or science from spirituality, or biology from consciousness.
Maybe it comes from learning how they interact.
The body is not separate from the mind.
The mind is not separate from the nervous system.
Our habits do not exist independently of our environment.
Our physical health does not exist independently of how we think, feel, rest, move, relate, and respond.
We are systems within systems.
And perhaps becoming healthier is not about mastering every individual part.
Perhaps it is about learning to listen to the whole.
That is the invitation behind Wiring to Wisdom.
Not to become a perfect human being.
But to become a more conscious participant in the human being you already are.
