Subtitle: A Nasal Spray Longevity Screen, Why Less Protein May Age You Better, Cadaver Skin Injectables, Art's Effect on Biological Age, and Which Anti-Aging Interventions Actually Move the Needle

Nasal Spray Ingredient Emerges As Unexpected Longevity Candidate In Massive Drug Screen
Researchers mapped 2,358 longevity-associated genes across the body's broader protein and signaling networks, then screened 6,442 approved drugs to see which ones nudged those aging pathways in a healthier direction. Oxymetazoline, the active ingredient in nasal sprays like Afrin, was among 21 standout candidates, with a predicted pathway running through the ACKR3 receptor and connecting to major aging proteins including NF-kB, TP53, and AKT1. Host Dave Asprey explains why this computational screen is a promising research lead rather than a protocol, and why chronic use of a vasoconstricting nasal spray carries real risks regardless of what a network analysis suggests.

New Review Of 350+ Studies Asks Whether Less Protein Means Longer Life
A review spanning more than 350 studies found that protein restriction consistently extended lifespan and improved metabolic health across mice, rats, flies, and fish, with smaller human studies showing improvements in body fat and fasting glucose even when total calorie intake rose. Researchers point to FGF21, a liver hormone that rises under protein or amino acid scarcity and boosts energy expenditure and glucose regulation, as a key mechanism. Host Dave Asprey breaks down why blanket protein advice fails older adults preserving muscle and highly active people just as badly as it fails everyone else, and why matching intake to actual biology beats maximizing protein at every meal.

Processed Cadaver Skin Injectable Enters The Anti-Aging Market As Elravie Re2O
A new injectable called Elravie Re2O, short for "return to your 20s," is made from donated human skin processed to remove living cells and most genetic material, leaving a collagen-rich extracellular matrix that gets injected into the face and neck as a biological scaffold rather than a simple filler. Human-derived tissue matrices already have a track record in burn and wound care, but this specific product is not yet FDA-approved and lacks comparative trial data against existing fillers. Host Dave Asprey separates legitimate regenerative medicine from a novel cosmetic product still waiting on long-term safety and consistency data.

UCL Study Finds Weekly Arts Engagement Tracks With Slower Epigenetic Aging
A University College London study of more than 3,500 adults found that people who engaged weekly with arts and culture, including painting, music, museums, and theater, showed a roughly four percent slower pace of aging on the DunedinPACE clock and appeared about one biological year younger on PhenoAge, with the effect holding after adjusting for income, education, smoking, and physical activity. Benefits appeared whether people were actively creating art or simply attending performances and exhibits. Host Dave Asprey argues this expands what counts as a health input beyond molecules and devices, since novelty, meaning, and social connection influence the nervous system too.

Review Of 41 Human Studies Ranks Which Interventions Actually Shift Epigenetic Clocks
A review of 41 human studies testing interventions against newer-generation epigenetic clocks found favorable changes for exercise, caloric restriction, omega-3s, plant-rich diets, multivitamins, semaglutide, pitavastatin, and ketamine, while nicotinamide riboside, rapamycin, and senolytics showed no detected clock improvement in the studies reviewed. Semaglutide produced the strongest single result, slowing DunedinPACE by about nine percent in a trial of adults with HIV-associated fat redistribution, though a separate fatty liver study produced mixed outcomes. Host Dave Asprey explains why a strong mechanistic story does not guarantee a moved biomarker, and why clinical outcomes, functional measures, and safety data all matter alongside any single clock reading.

    Here's How You Can Have a 3-hour Orgasm (real!) : 1514

    06.08.2026 | 1 Std.
The Orgasm Code: How Pleasure Rewires Your Nervous System for Longevity & Healing | Regena Thomashauer (Mama Gena)

Most people think pleasure is a distraction from performance. This episode proves the opposite: your orgasm is a biohacking tool wired directly into your nervous system, your hormones, and your longevity.

Watch this episode on YouTube for the full video experience: https://www.youtube.com/@DaveAspreyBPR

Host Dave Asprey sits down with Regena Thomashauer, known worldwide as Mama Gena, founder and CEO of the School of Womanly Arts and a New York Times bestselling author. For over three decades she has taught hundreds of thousands of women how to reclaim pleasure as a source of power, and her work has redefined what modern feminism and embodiment look like in practice.

Dave and Regena break down the actual biology behind orgasm: the oxytocin, prolactin, and endorphin cascade that shifts the body out of fight or flight and into repair, the role of sleep optimization in processing trauma, and how chronic disconnection from pleasure keeps people stuck in survival mode instead of human performance mode. They dig into semen retention research and its link to longevity and anti-aging, why shame around the body blocks neuroplasticity and emotional healing, and how learning to regulate arousal, rage, and surrender is its own form of nervous system hacking. This is a masterclass in reclaiming a part of your biology most people were never taught to understand, let alone optimize.

This is essential listening for anyone serious about biohacking, human performance, brain optimization, functional medicine, longevity, and building a body and mind that can hold more pleasure, more power, and more presence.

    You'll Learn:
How orgasm triggers an oxytocin, prolactin, and endorphin cascade that lowers cortisol and drives real nervous system repair
Why the Daoist approach to semen retention is tied to longevity and anti-aging in men
How chronic shame and disconnection from the body block neuroplasticity and keep trauma stuck
The link between sleep optimization, hormone regulation, and processing deep emotional wounds
How to move rage and grief through the body instead of suppressing them
Why relaxation, not effort, is the real key to expanding pleasure and human performance
How devotional presence between partners creates measurable shifts in nervous system state

    I Wish I Knew This Anti-Aging Hack Sooner : 1512

    02.08.2026 | 13 Min.
There is one molecule your body already makes that helps protect your cells from aging, but your production of it drops as you get older.

In this video, I explain why glutathione is known as the body’s master antioxidant and why it plays a critical role in cellular defense, mitochondrial energy, immune regulation, and liver detoxification.

You’ll discover why aging is not just your body “wearing out,” but the slow breakdown of your internal repair and antioxidant defense systems.

    You’ll also learn:
-Why oxidative stress damages mitochondria and accelerates aging
-How glutathione helps protect cells from daily stress
-Why your liver uses huge amounts of glutathione for detox support
-The difference between oral, liposomal, IV, and topical glutathione
-Why delivery matters if you want your body to actually use it

Viagra's Cancer Signal, TV's Toll on Your Brain, Heat and Accelerated Aging, and a New Way to Flush Your Brain Explained

Viagra's Active Ingredient May Block Cancer From Spreading
A study published in Cancer Research from the Weizmann Institute of Science, in collaboration with Clalit and the U.S. National Cancer Institute, found that sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra, may interfere with cancer cells' ability to metastasize by disrupting how they regulate cholesterol, a resource tumors need to detach and invade new tissue. The team combined mouse models and human cell cultures with more than twenty years of medical records covering roughly five million people, and found better survival outcomes among about forty thousand cancer patients who had taken sildenafil before diagnosis. Researchers also flagged a possible combination effect with statins. Host Dave Asprey breaks down why this cheap, off-patent drug class deserves more attention than it's getting, and where it fits alongside his own longevity protocol.

Heavy TV Watching In Midlife Tied To Alzheimer's-Related Brain Changes
A nearly twenty-four-year study published in Alzheimer's & Dementia followed more than 1,700 adults, tracking TV habits in their early fifties and scanning their brains in their mid-seventies. Men who watched more TV showed greater white matter damage and smaller frontal and occipital lobes, while women showed no such association. Critically, people with desk jobs that kept them sedentary all day did not show the same brain changes, and the TV association held even after adjusting for exercise levels. Host Dave Asprey unpacks why passive screen time, not sitting itself, may be the real driver here.

Ambient Heat Exposure Linked To Faster Biological Aging
A Science Advances study of 3,686 older adults linked neighborhood-level heat index exposure to accelerated biological aging using DNA methylation clocks. Short-term heat exposure moved one clock significantly, while exposure sustained over a full year or six years moved all major clocks, with extreme-caution heat days tied to nearly a three-year jump in one aging measure and a five percent faster overall aging pace on another. Researchers point to inflammation and stress signaling as likely drivers. Host Dave Asprey explains why this is a fundamentally different kind of heat story than the sauna and cold-plunge conversation biohackers are used to.

Industrial Chicken Farming May Be Accelerating The Spread Of Drug-Resistant Bacteria
A genomic analysis of nearly 2,800 bacterial samples from chickens and wild birds across thirty countries, published in PNAS and covered by The Guardian, found a roughly hundredfold increase in Campylobacter strain transitions between wild birds and farmed chickens since 1900. Global chicken populations have grown sevenfold since the 1960s to about 27 billion birds, and researchers identified genetic adaptations tied to antimicrobial resistance developing inside that population. Sixty to eighty percent of human Campylobacter infections trace back to raw chicken, with links to post-infectious IBS in some cases. Host Dave Asprey connects the dots between industrial farming density and the gut-health stakes for anyone who eats chicken.

VA Researchers Develop Breathing-Based "Brain Flush" For Parkinson's And Alzheimer's
VA researchers led by Dr. Henry Lin found a way to trigger the brain's glymphatic clearance system, normally active during deep sleep, in people who are awake, using alternating puffs of five percent carbon dioxide and room air every thirty-five seconds. In a study of thirty Parkinson's patients and thirty-three healthy controls, a single thirty-minute session produced measurable increases in blood levels of beta-amyloid, alpha-synuclein, and other waste proteins associated with neurodegeneration. The VA's Technology Transfer Program is now developing a patent and prototype device.
