  • How to Manifest WISELY: You are NOT a self improvement project!! (with Tam Kaur)
Hiii friends, welcome back to the eighth episode of ✨ Finding your Casual Magic ✨ (I’m so excited for this guest episode eep!) Today we are talking all things self love!! The relationship we cultivate with ourselves, how we talk to ourselves behind the scenes, and how this can then impact the types of relationships we attract and how we go about making our dreams come true. Do you struggle to say no when someone asks you to an event that you don't want to go to for fear of what they'll think of you? Have you ever found yourself in relationships that don't serve you because you're searching for parts of yourself externally rather than cultivating your inner world? Do you ever wonder why everyone else is living a perfect life and you're stuck with all these problems you can't solve? Well today's guest is literally the person to help give some answers to these!! Tam Kaur is a self-love guru helping millions of young women become the most empowered versions of themselves through her motivational advice videos on topics from dating to healing, to her heart to hearts on her podcast ‘Self Obsessed’ and the wisdom shared in her new book ‘Buy Yourself the Damn Flowers’ Tam blends actionable advice with meaningful anecdotes to help you become the best version of yourself. I start the episode by leading a guided meditation to help you feel grounded and aware before we launch into the topic of self love exploring spirituality, relationships, shifting mindsets, self development, childhood, post university life and of course YouTube. The episode closes with the ‘Casual Magic of the Week’ which myself and Tam share before hearing from Elena who shares their Casual Magic followed by intention setting for the week ahead. Grab a journal or open your notes app and join me as we ask ourselves… What went well this week? What am I proud of? What is something that challenged me this week? Based on these reflections, choose a one word intention for your coming week. I just want to send you this reminder that no matter where you are in your self confidence journey, no matter how you might feel today, you are always enough. 💛 Find Tam on YouTube Find Tam on Instagram Self Obsessed Podcast Buy Yourself the Damn Flowers by Tam Kaur For more Finding Your Casual Magic, go to @casualmagicpodcast on Instagram!! • When Seeking Validation Needs to Stop: Can Insecurity Evolve into Confidence?
Why hello my friends, welcome back to the seventh episode of ✨ Finding your Casual Magic ✨ DISCLAIMER: This episode discusses body insecurities and unhealthy relationships, listener discretion is advised. In this episode we’re talking about the magic that is self confidence!! At the time of recording I have never felt more confident in who I am. I wear what I want to wear and show up in the world in ways that feel extremely authentic. I feel like I have undergone so many challenges and looked at so many of my insecurities or things that I felt shame about and I just feel like the way that I now exist is authentically me and it feels so good. Of course, I still wake up often feeling insecure and of course I still have days where I enter old patterns of thinking but in general, if I zoom out and take a step back, I do feel, dare I say it, confident. To start the episode I invite you to do a short guided meditation to really enter this space with me and let whatever's happened in your day settle. I then share some facts on the topic of self confidence, sense of self & self esteem, looking at a few different definitions and some research about confidence in the field of cognitive psychology. I then launch into the episode focusing on how to walk through the world with confidence answering the questions: how do we build trust within ourselves to navigate challenge? How do we build a trust that we can show up authentically in spaces where maybe that feels scary to do so and to trust that everything will be okay to have this intrinsic safety within ourselves, even when the external world presents challenges to that? I close the episode with my ‘Casual Magic of the Week’ and then we hear from Aparajita who shares their Casual Magic followed by intention setting for the week ahead. 💛 Links to research mentioned: What Self-Esteem Is and Is Not - Nathaniel Branden What Is Self-Confidence? • Why Eve Cornwell Left Law: daring to disappoint the world for your own happiness
Hiiiiii friends, welcome back to the sixth episode of ✨ Finding your Casual Magic ✨ (another wonderful guest episode!!!) This is the tandem episode to last week's which was all about finding your purpose. How do we know what to pursue in our lives? How do we know if something is the right path for us? And what do we do if later down the line, the path that we thought was what we wanted maybe doesn't serve us anymore? Today I am SO excited to be interviewing my dear friend Eve Cornwell, who has a lot of answers to these questions. Eve became known for wanting to become a lawyer. She started vlogging at university while studying law and amassed a huge audience with her unique editing style and original storytelling abilities, I can always remember being so immensely inspired by how creative and high effort her videos were. But whilst the world knew her as this ambitious trainee lawyer, I was lucky enough to know her as Eve, one of my funniest, bravest, impact driven friends. She has also been a huge role model for me in learning to embrace my sexuality and queerness. In this episode, I open with a short guided meditation before we talk all about Eve’s journey. From quitting law, going offline, coming back online, owning her queerness, her YouTube journey and getting married we cover it all. I close the episode with my ‘Casual Magic of the Week’ and then we hear from one of you guys followed by intention setting for the week ahead. Grab a journal or open your notes app and join me as we ask ourselves… What went well this week? What is a little joy that you can celebrate? What is something that challenged me this week? Based on these reflections, choose a one word intention for your coming week. I am so grateful that you’re here and I hope you love this episode, and if no one has told you today, you are enough. 💛 Follow Eve on Instagram: evecornwell Timestamps: 00:00:00: Introduction 00:01:02: Introducing Eve Cornwell 00:04:16: Guided Meditation 00:05:54: Eve's decision to pursue a career in law 00:08:46: The reality of law school and its impact 00:11:33: Eve's expectations of her training contract 00:13:30: Sacrifices in the legal profession 00:15:50: Staying in law despite the challenges 00:16:22: Eve's online presence and its impact on her legal career 00:18:16: The conflict between YouTube authenticity and legal professionalism 00:20:14: Realising the misfit with being a lawyer 00:21:00: The identity crisis during the legal career 00:22:48: Navigating a queer discovery journey 00:23:29: Conflict with maintaining online presence and legal career 00:30:08: Embracing career change and discomfort 00:31:06: Product management and finding a fulfilling career 00:32:10: Separating purpose from career 00:35:16: Articulateness and academic prowess in law 00:36:33: Journey to embracing queer identity 00:37:52: The Journey of Queer Self-Acceptance 00:38:33: Proposing to My Girlfriend 00:40:03: The Challenge of Reclaiming Marriage 00:43:25: Redefining Queer Rituals and Norms 00:44:44: Embracing Queerness in a Heteronormative Workspace 00:47:18: Words of Wisdom and Advice on Queerness 00:50:02: Advice for Career Changes 00:56:14: Current Joys and New Hobbies 00:56:40: Introduction to climbing 00:57:16: Casual Magic of the week 01:00:18: Weekly reflection and intentions 01:02:26: Closing thoughts and wisdom If you’d like to be featured as the Casual Magic of the week: 💌 Notice a moment of casual magic in your week. • Stop searching for your purpose: create it!
Hi friendsss, welcome back to the fifth episode of ✨ Finding your Casual Magic ✨ (five episodes already ahhh) Today in this solo episode we’re talking about purpose dun dun dun!!! I feel like purpose is the source of so much existentialism, so much fear, scariness but we're going to try and make it a little less scary. Why do we feel motivated to get out of bed every morning? Why is it we might feel compelled to change jobs? Why is it we feel we need to make changes to our life? Or why do we feel content living the way that we are? One could argue that all of these things come down to a sense of purpose, guiding all of our decisions is that North Star of our purpose in the world but the sad thing is, it can sometimes feel quite elusive. Many of us don't know what our purpose is and some of us would rather not think about that because it can be a dramatic and scary topic. But the thing is, all of our decisions, day to day, big and small, are driven by our sense of purpose. So what if, rather than waiting to discover our purpose, we could create it? Before we get into today's topic about finding and creating our purpose I start the episode with a guided meditation where we really just take a moment to be, to ground ourselves, to come back to our breath. I then look at three main routes that one can use to find their purpose in this world. I'll be looking at how culture can affect our sense of purpose, how our society and the people around us affect our purpose. I'm also going to share some of my own personal journeys with discovering what my purpose is in this world. Sources for this ep! How to find your Core Values Core Values Questionnaire pdf I close the episode with ‘Casual Magic of the Week’ followed by intention setting for the week ahead. • Everything you wish you were taught about adulting in your 20s: investing, finding love and creating new homes (with Maddie Borge)
Hi friends, welcome back to the fourth episode of ✨ Finding your Casual Magic ✨ (another guest episode yayyy) This is the tandem episode to last week's which was all about the pressure to do and be everything in your twenties. This podcast works in an alternating fashion where I first explore a topic alone and then I bring in a guest who is an expert on this theme just to kind of dig into it a bit further. Today I’m joined by someone who absolutely embodies seizing this chapter of life… Maddie Borge is a Norwegian creator, now based in London for the last few years since university, who has been creating content online for almost 10 years. In the last few years she's seen huge success creating relatable lifestyle content as she navigates everything from studying for university exams, to flat hunting, to taking herself on inspiring solo adventures. Maddie is such an empowering force for young women wishing to take control of their finances, daring to take that solo trip and reminding us to not only dream big, but actually make it happen with practical tools. In this episode, I open with a short guided meditation before digging into everything from the pressure we face to do and be everything in our twenties, how we can better prioritise our time and energy around our goals, Maddie’s best financial advice that she wishes everyone in their twenties knew and what brings her authentic daily joy from cultivating a sense of home to maintaining her sense of independence in romantic relationships. I close the episode with my ‘Casual Magic of the Week’ and then we hear from one of you guys followed by intention setting for the week ahead. Grab a journal or open your notes app and join me as we ask ourselves… What went well this week? What am I proud of this week? What is a little win that I can celebrate? What is something that challenged me this week? What is something I would change coming into next week? Based on these reflections, choose a one word intention for your coming week. I am so grateful that you’re here and I hope you love this episode, and if no one has told you today, you are enough. 💛 Follow Maddie on YouTube:  @macerly   Follow Maddie on Instagram: https://bit.ly/40n4ir8   Timestamps: 00:00: Episode Introduction 01:20: Introduction to Maddie Borge 03:53: Meditation session 05:57: Pressures of being in your 20s 06:30: Personal experiences with societal expectations 10:05: Comparisons and achievements in your 20s 11:13: Reflections on high school expectations 12:19: Eldest daughter syndrome 13:58: Challenges of transitioning to adult life 14:25: YouTube career beginnings 15:42: Transition to full-time content creation 16:45: Gap year travels and social media career 17:44: Observations and challenges in the finance world 18:42: The motivation behind sharing financial advice online 20:25: Key financial advice for people in their 20s 23:55: The importance of an emergency fund 25:03: Starting a saving habit early on 27:34: The power of compounding 30:45: Encouragement to start saving and investing early 31:23: Balancing saving and enjoying life in the current economy 32:15: Analysing your budget and expenses 33:04: Personal experience with budgeting 34:10: Affordable living in London 34:54: Making the most of solo dates 35:05: Addressing financial anxiety 37:41: Expanding beyond finance content 38:17: The importance of feeling at home 40:57: Living in a small space 45:37: Coping with anxiety and seeking help 48:38: Moving in with a partner at a young age 54:47: Balancing independence and a relationship 57:05: Overcoming the fear of being alone 58:09: The benefits of solo travel and self-growth 59:56: Advice for those in their early 20s 01:01:45: Current uncertainties and self-employment 01:02:40: Joy and contentment in relationships 01:04:32: Become present with loved ones 01:05:57: Casual magic of the week 01:08:24: Setting intentions for the coming week If you’d like to be featured as the Casual Magic of the week: 💌 Notice a moment of casual magic in your week. Über Finding Your Casual Magic

Casual magic is about how we find beauty in the mundane everyday. It's learning not to wait for joy at the end of our achievements, but to find contentment NOW in every single day of our lives. It’s that first sip of herbal tea in the morning, a smile from a stranger, or the way the light comes into your bedroom. Noticing trains your brain to redefine joy. Stay tuned for alternating episodes — one solo, and then a tandem ep where I bring on a guest to expand from a new angle. I want to serve up my vulnerability to softly encourage you to do the same. Welcome to this cosy corner! Jade x
