How can working with the moon help you slow down, listen to yourself, and create meaningful change?
In this episode of the Magick Kitchen Podcast, Leandra Witchwood and Elyse Welles welcome author and professional witch Jen Sankey to explore lunar magic and her book Manifesting by the Moon. Jen shares how the phases of the moon can become a practical framework for manifestation, tarot, spellwork, rest, reflection, and personal growth.
They explore why the often-overlooked dark moon may be one of the most important phases, how tarot cards can deepen lunar practice, and why manifestation requires more than simply wishing for something. The conversation also moves through shadow work, intuition, authentic desire, hustle culture, moon bathing, Hekate’s Deipnon, and learning to let your spiritual practice ebb and flow.
Rather than chasing perfect rituals or instant results, Jen encourages witches to work with the moon in accessible ways, trust themselves, and remember that done is better than perfect.

Together, they explore ADHD, autism, dyslexia, rejection sensitivity, hyperfocus, perfectionism, shame, and the fear of practicing magick “incorrectly.”
Jenny shares accessible alternatives to conventional meditation, including walking, chanting, drawing, dancing, gardening, mala beads, sensory tools, and working inside a private sacred space. They also discuss rotating between magical interests, adapting rituals to your needs, overcoming overwhelm, and recognizing that witchcraft does not require perfect focus, elaborate spells, a flawless altar, or anyone else’s permission.
