Today, I want to tell you about the Teutons. They’re one of the Original Civilizations in the 1999s Age of Kings and they play out very differently in the hands of casual and competitive players. The Teutons are considered to be one of the worst civilizations overall and on Arabia particularly in the current meta. They are basically never seen in any tournament and most of the time rated the lowest tier in any kind of tierlist. The reason for this discrepancy is of course the lack of mobility for the Teutons, them being basically the slowest Civ in the game and bad late game options without gold, which are both very important elements when comparing civilizations in competitive matchups.
The Teutons serve as a great example of how complicated it is to balance a civilzation well when considering the different skill levels and intentions of players when playing Age of Empires, as they can be completely broken and bad at the same time.

This time, I won‘t be talking about Age of Empires II and instead give you a little bit of a review of another strategy game, called Corsair Cove. It‘s been consuming me for the past two weeks, and I believe you‘ll find it to be an interesting game if you enjoy strategic city builder games and/or pirates. I had a ton of fun with the game as it offers a fresh take on the genre. I hope you'll enjoy this little review!

The crusaders of the Holy Roman Empire  have finally made it to the Holy Land, but sadly their emperor has not. Now, they wish to bring his body to the Dome of the Rock, a holy site in Jerusalem. The city of Jerusalem is well fortified and protected by the city of Damascus and the formidable Saladin, wo has vowed to protect the Holy Land against the invaders. Richard the Lionheart is desperately waiting for Barbarossa and his reinforcements to continue the Third Crusade, as he proves to be yet another incompetent king. This is the final mission of the Barbarossa Campaign and I hope you enjoyed the journey!

This mission is based on Barbarossa's ill-fated expedition to the Holy Land during the Third Crusade (1189-1192). In 1187, the Muslim sultan Saladin dealt a crushing blow to the Crusader states at the Battle of Hattin and recaptured Jerusalem. The shock wave hit Western Europe immediately: Pope Gregory VIII issued a papal bull calling for a new crusade to reclaim the Holy Land. Barbarossa, despite his past conflicts with the Papacy, took the cross in March 1188 at the "Diet of Christ" in Mainz, my home town! For Barbarossa, taking the cross was the ultimate act of Christian chivalry, a way to cement his legacy as the secular leader of Western Christendom and secure spiritual salvation. Little did he know how that this crusade would be his end.
