This week on the Previously On podcast, Jillian is trying something new with the very first edition of Previously On This Week, a weekly catch-up covering entertainment news, behind-the-scenes filming updates, quick TV and movie reactions, and all the romance-fueled recommendations you need to obsess over next.
First up: The Summer I Turned Pretty chaos has officially begun. Filming for the new TSITP movie is underway in Wilmington, blurry cast videos are spreading across the internet, and so many fans reportedly showed up to set that Jenny Han and the official show account had to ask fans for privacy. Jillian breaks down what happened, the continued frenzy for the summer I turned pretty, and the massive pressure Jenny Han must feel directing her first feature film.
Then it’s time for quick reactions to The Devil Wears Prada 2 aka “Avengers: Doomsday for the girls and the gays.” Jillian went in with low expectations and ended up loving it, especially the new dynamic between Andy and Miranda. She also has questions… mainly WHY that random love interest existed at all. Plus: the entire theater losing their minds at that Coach line, and a discussion about which nostalgic 2000s movies deserve the sequel treatment next. (Give us a A Cinderella Story revival immediately.)
Also this week: Jillian fell headfirst into the Disney+ K-drama Perfect Crown and now has one major takeaway - nobody does yearning like Korean dramas. Sorry to Conrad Fisher, but the men in K-dramas are operating at levels of emotional suffering we simply do not see enough in American television.
And finally, Jillian rounds out the episode with a full “What to Watch” segment featuring upcoming obsession-worthy releases including Off Campus, Elle, Sterling Point, and Every Year After. Plus, thoughts on Prime Video’s new “Obsessed” campaign and why streamers are finally realizing fangirls and BookTok readers are the audience to please.

In this episode of Previously On, Jillian and her husband Tyler are breaking down Euphoria Season 3 Episode 3, “The Ballad of Paladin,” and WOW this episode gave us the wedding of the season, but in true Euphoria fashion, it came with chaos, consequences, and one missing toe. Beneath the pink bows and $50,000 worth of flowers, everything starts to unravel for Nate and Cassie, whose “perfect day” spirals into something far darker than either of them expected. Meanwhile,this episode dives deeper into Jules’ backstory, revealing how she became a sugar baby and Rue’s storyline takes a wild turn as she gets pulled into bigger risks.
