We began Girls six years ago with Hannah's parents telling her they were cutting her off, financially. 62 episodes later, we end with Marnie — and Hannah's mom — doing everything they can to help her (and her son, Grovey), despite everything she says or does to push them away. And you know what? It feels pretty consistent, tbh. Marnie wins the Best Friend Award in the end, and closes with a very strong episode of insane lines and a bathroom Facetime b**t off, and Hannah's mom, once again, tries to bring her into adulthood. We did it, folks.

Elijah fires his acting career back up hard and fast with an open call for the musical adaptation of "White Men Can't Jump," and it's everything you'd hope it would be. Meanwhile we get a haunting from boyfriend's past, as Dill is at a baby-buying scandal of a rock bottom and shows up at the door at the worst time. Hannah finally reaches the NOT waterski instructor by phone to hit him with the Maury you ARE the father message, and then deals with the aftermath alongside eight pizzas. Marnie gets an eviction notice, calls her mom, and takes some jewelry to the pawn shop and is forced to see her true reflection in a fraudulent bit of jewelry. This episode also has the exact right amount of Jessa.

Hannah's announcing her plans to keep the baby to her visiting, weed-gummied up Mom who reacts one way, and eventually to Elijah, who reacts a completely different way. Ray is dealing with going through Hermie's apartment and things, and it provides a useful epiphany about Marnie, whose character development got completely left behind in the season 5 finale, apparently. Meanwhile, Adam and Jessa are making "their" movie with Fake Hannah the actress, and they have two very different takes on what it's all about (not surprisingly).
