Created and produced in collaboration with Venetian glass-makers Venini, and Milan and Rotterdam-based design studio Formafantasma, the collection of four vases - limited to nine pieces per shape, is an homage to the artistic heritage of the city and to an experimental approach. A progressing fusion of design, technology, and the handmade. In this episode, moderator Dan Thawley explores, together with Formafantasma and Silvia Damiani, President of Venini, the design and craft behind the collection.

EP. 06 Jil Sander Design Talks | Olfactory Series 1
During Milan Design Week 2025, Jil Sander hosted an exclusive event at its Milan Flagship in Via Verri 6. Immersed in a bespoke installation, guests explored the design and craft behind the new Olfactory Series 1 collection of fragrances. The Olfactory Series 1 fuses botany and technology in six minimalist, unisex formulas in which the olfactory marks of aldehydes cut across key natural ingredients, giving every unique fragrance shapes and volumes. Perfectly aligned with the quietly disruptive character of the collection, the bottle was conceived with design studio Formafantasma. The goal was to push an artisanal approach and feeling into an industrial process, fusing high craft and advanced production technologies, breaking the codes of traditional glassmaking. In this episode we tune in to hear from perfumer Julie Massé and design duo Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin of FormaFantasma to explore the design and craft behind the collection Olfactory Series 1.
