Back at Prince Manor, Harry’s new life as Severus Snape’s trainee and ward really begins. An early run leads him to the manor stables where he discovers Abraxans, Pegasi, Thestrals and a Hippogriff that Snape has quietly rescued, then breakfast turns into a growth potion that starts to undo years of malnutrition. The morning is spent brewing Hospital Wing potions side by side with Severus, but the real test comes outside when Snape forces Harry into a brutal training duel and shows him that relying on Expelliarmus will get him killed. That night, by the fire with a stack of Defense books, their lesson shifts from spell work to ethics as Severus pushes Harry to rethink “light” versus “dark” magic, why any spell can be deadly, and how even the Killing Curse can be a mercy in war. Exhausted, bruised and deeply challenged, Harry goes to bed sore but certain that this kind of hard teaching is what might actually keep him alive.Support the show

A New Place to Stay Chapter 40 - Harry Potter
The school year ends under a shadow. At the Leaving Feast, Draco Malfoy panics over a letter saying the Dark Lord has taken over Malfoy Manor, while Ron stews in regret as he realises Neville has quietly taken the best-friend place he threw away. On the train, Harry, Neville, and Luna share a calm ride home, but at King’s Cross Harry’s old fear comes roaring back when every family vanishes and no one comes for him. Two hours later, shivering and hungry, he is finally collected by a Cruciatus-battered Severus Snape, who explains Dumbledore left him there and takes him “home” to Prince Manor. Over hot food, coffee and cocoa, Harry faces the fallout of the Department of Mysteries, hears why his stunt was so dangerous, and learns that Dumbledore never intended to train him. Severus, calling him “his” child at last, promises to find a way to remove the Horcrux and starts laying out a real Horcrux hunt: the orphanage, Riddle House, the Gaunt shack, and maybe even Hogwarts itself. Harry goes to bed sore, scolded, but safe – and finally certain he is not facing this war alone.

A New Place to Stay Chapter 39 - Harry Potter
Dobby breaks ranks and tells Severus the truth: Harry and his friends are at the Ministry, in the Department of Mysteries, and the Death Eaters are already in play. While Snape calls in Shacklebolt and the Order, Harry faces Voldemort himself in the Hall of Prophecies, shielding his friends from fire, fighting back with every spell he knows, and hanging on as Voldemort tries to rip through his mind in front of terrified Ministry witnesses. When the Death Eaters are rounded up and the students are sent home by Portkey, a furious Severus strips house points, Dumbledore finally confirms to the press that Voldemort is back, and Harry is summoned to the Headmaster’s office. There he hears the full prophecy, learns that either he must kill Voldemort or die himself, and discovers he is being sent back to Snape’s house for the summer, while Severus quietly decides that the only answer now is harder, more brutal training that will keep Harry alive.

A New Place to Stay Chapter 38 - Harry Potter
Exams are ending and Harry is waiting for the pattern to repeat, because something terrible always happens at the end of the year. A History of Magic OWL turns into a full vision as he finds himself in the Department of Mysteries watching Voldemort torture Sirius over the prophecy. Shaken but clear headed, Harry pulls Neville into the Room of Requirement, explains the scar connection and the trap, and chooses to spring one of his own instead. With Neville, Luna, Fred, George, and Dobby, he heads straight to the Hall of Prophecies, lays down portable swamps and fireworks, and lets chaos swallow the arriving Death Eaters, complete with Dobby flinging wands and Lucius Malfoy’s hair going up in flames. Just when it looks like they might get out clean, Harry’s scar explodes with pain. Voldemort himself arrives in the room, and the real battle begins.

A New Place to Stay Chapter 37 - Harry Potter
Morning runs with Harry leave Neville aching but proud, and breakfast turns into a front-row seat to chaos when Dumbledore suddenly breaks out in an uncontrollable poison-ivy rash in front of the whole school. While McGonagall punishes everyone for laughing, Neville quietly calls Hermione out for always choosing the Headmaster over her friends. In Potions, Harry and Severus slip back into their usual “Professor vs. Potter” act, right up until Harry earns himself a detention. Behind the scenes, Snape examines Dumbledore’s condition in the Hospital Wing, collects samples, and returns to his quarters where Harry is waiting with questions. Over orange juice and research notes, guardian and ward talk about poison ivy, Horcrux extraction, Dumbledore’s plans for Harry’s summer placement, and the unsettling discovery that Ron has been following Harry on the Marauder’s Map. Change is coming, and Severus is determined to make sure Harry is ready to fight back.
