If the murderer you're looking for is a vampire, then you want a vampire detective. Just maybe not this one.

From their base at Solomon College, Oxford, Jack Valentine and her colleagues are tasked with keeping the existence of vampires secret from humanity. Mostly they hunt those of their number who’ve got carried away while blood-drinking and killed a human by accident, but occasionally they encounter the most dangerous kind of predator: a vampire serial killer.

The Dealer is one such predator. He’s supposed to have been dead for fifteen years, but Jack Valentine – the Seekers’ youngest member – was never convinced they had the right guy. Now there’s a new body bearing all the hallmarks of his signature, but some poor newbie Silver is taking the blame, and Jack isn’t having that.

Applying her characteristic bull-in-a-china-shop brand of diplomacy, Jack is going to raise the dead, one body at a time.​
