    This time on Strangers we have our July feature, Brokeback Mount Doom, by our own Inmn Neruin. Brokeback Mount Doom is a short play that reimagines Lord of the Rings and Brokeback Mountain smashed together in glorious harmony. It was originally written for the stage as part of Shakesqueer Theater's production Ten Minute Movies. The feature was recorded as a radio play with the original cast. Mallacht an Ghiorria or "Curse of the Hare" explores folklore and history around the Derryveagh evictions of 1861 in County Donegal, Ireland. Afterwards there's an interview with Sean about hares, curses, the hidden effects of colonization, and being a squatter punk in the 80's in Ireland.

    Seán Fitzgerald (they/he:Siad/Sé) ran an anarchist zine in Ireland In the late 1980s before turning to ancestral skills in 1993 in order to reclaim these practices for inner city communities. Fitzgerald continues this cultural regeneration work with ‘Dúchas na nDaoine,’ a volunteer-led community garden for recovery, fostering well being through story, heritage, and Irish language. Their previous work includes two highly illustrated books on Irish myths, Irish folk magic, and Ulster folklore.
