Somewhere between the last light and the first signs of morning, the world begins to sound different.

For the latest chapter of the Magician On Duty Journey Series, we welcome Brazilian producer Juliano Gomez, an artist who has spent two decades moving through Psy-Trance, Techno, House, Organic House and Downtempo in search of his own sonic language.

Rooted in deep grooves, hypnotic rhythms and organic textures, Gomez’s music has reached dance floors and festivals around the world, including Burning Man, Ozora and Fusion. His productions have appeared on respected labels including Sol Selectas, Underyourskin, Harabe Records and Pipe & Pochet, earning international support and Beatport chart recognition along the way.

For his Journey Series contribution, Juliano delivers a 20-track passage through deep, hypnotic and leftfield territory, bringing together music from Temple Tears, UREM, Daniel Neuland, Ouhana, K2W0, Iorie and more.

The episode arrives alongside Darker Than Ever, his upcoming release on Magician On Duty — marking another step deeper into the shadows.

Some journeys unfold in a straight line. Others drift like smoke, following instinct rather than direction.

For his debut appearance on the Magician On Duty Journey Series, Calatrava (@calatravaa) offers a recording that lives somewhere between sunrise and the final moments of the night. It is a patient conversation between pulse and silence, where each transition feels less like a DJ mix and more like the turning of a page. Time stretches, rhythms breathe, and melodies arrive quietly, leaving room for the listener to wander.

Calatrava's story begins in Moscow, where intimate underground gatherings became the laboratory for a sound shaped by restraint instead of excess. Drawn to the subtle tension of minimal techno, deep house, and downtempo, he learned to build momentum through detail rather than spectacle, allowing every record to reveal itself slowly.

Everything shifted with his move to Tulum in 2022. Surrounded by a community searching for new musical languages, he co-founded EXO, a gathering dedicated to slower frequencies and open-minded selectors. What began as a local event series soon grew into one of the region's most respected platforms, welcoming artists including Magician On Duty, Kyong Sono, DPAZ, NADA, RoMo, MoM, YOU&I, and many others. The vision naturally expanded into EXO Records, a home for music that favors feeling over formula.

Today, Calatrava continues to shape his own path through original productions and performances across Mexico, guided by curiosity rather than convention. His sets refuse obvious climaxes, choosing instead to dissolve the boundaries between genres, cultures, and states of mind.

That philosophy flows effortlessly through this Journey Series episode. Across eighteen carefully chosen selections, delicate arpeggios dissolve into earthy percussion, forgotten melodies reappear in unexpected forms, and hypnotic grooves give way to moments of quiet reflection before finding their pulse once again. Music from Arutani, Iorie, Madmotormiquel, NADA, Mira & Christopher Schwarzwälder, Juliano Gomez, gázel, O_Y and others becomes part of a single, unbroken narrative—less a collection of tracks than a landscape slowly revealing itself with every step.

This is a mix for long roads, hidden beaches, empty dance floors at dawn, and those rare moments when music says more than words ever could.

Magician On Duty Journey Series welcomes Miami-based selector Ricardito (@ric_dimensions) for a deeply personal recording that reflects the places, people and moments that have shaped his musical path.

Drawing inspiration from the underground cultures of London, New York and South Florida, Ricardito has cultivated a sound that effortlessly drifts between organic house, deep grooves and hypnotic rhythms. His approach is less about chasing genres and more about creating emotional movement—building sets that invite listeners into a shared experience where dance, introspection and connection coexist.

Over the years, Ricardito has become a familiar presence across Miami's vibrant electronic music community, soundtracking sunset beach gatherings, intimate boat parties on Biscayne Bay and immersive experiences at Love Burn as part of the CYMATICA camp. His journey has also taken him through beloved collectives including Fun the Pain Away, Lunarcrats, Sky Bar and Banana Hammocks, while appearances at venues such as Sable, M2, Mad Radio, ZeyZey and Do Not Sit On The Furniture have further established his reputation as a thoughtful and versatile selector.

His contribution to the Magician On Duty Journey Series captures that same spirit of exploration. Carefully woven together, the mix moves through organic textures, melodic storytelling and late-night energy, balancing introspective moments with uplifting grooves. Featuring music from Temple Step Project & Darpan, Roze, Fernn, Jon.K, Eternal Moment, Space Food, BOg, Danny Tenaglia, Booka Shade, Patrice Bäumel, Boris Brejcha and many more, the journey also includes unexpected reinterpretations of Portishead, Depeche Mode and Nelly Furtado, creating a seamless narrative that feels both nostalgic and forward-looking.

Rather than simply presenting a collection of tracks, Ricardito treats the recording as a living memory—one inspired by friendships, places and fleeting moments that continue to resonate long after the music fades. Magician On Duty Journey Series presents Gauner @andreas-stefi-1

Some DJs spend a lifetime refining a single sound. Others remain restless—guided less by genre and more by the emotional thread that connects music across styles, tempos, and eras. For Andreas Stefi, better known as Gauner, it has always been the latter.

Active as a DJ and promoter since the early 2000s, Gauner has quietly cultivated a deep relationship with electronic music in all its forms, embracing its constant evolution rather than its boundaries. Now, as his long-awaited debut productions begin to emerge—including a collaborative release with I’m Mady on Magician On Duty, alongside forthcoming works for Art of Downtempo, Kosa, and Dialtone Records—his appearance on the Magician On Duty Journey Series feels both timely and deeply personal.

For his contribution, Gauner resists the obvious route. Rather than assembling a purely downtempo excursion, he delivers a richly textured voyage through the sounds that have accompanied him throughout his career: organic rhythms, indie grooves, leftfield disco, breakbeat detours, and moments of introspective electronica. The result is less a genre statement and more a musical autobiography.

"After listening to some of the other Journey mixes, I decided not to do a straight downtempo set," Gauner explains. "This mix is a combination of some of the styles I love. It includes breaks, disco, indie and organic tracks. It's like my whole career as a DJ—I can't focus on only one specific sound when there is so much incredible music out there. Hope you like it."

That philosophy unfolds naturally across the selection, moving from the meditative textures of Julian Maier-Hauff and Metatext's "Riezaia" into the playful psychedelia of Kapchiz, the cosmic pulse of Rodion and Bill Brewster, and the unmistakable energy of Soulwax's rework of Roisin Murphy. Closing with "Herzlich aufgeladen (Night Version)" by I’m Mady & Gauner, the mix gently points toward the next chapter in Andreas' artistic journey—one that has been patiently taking shape for years.

As with the finest Journey Series installments, this is not simply a collection of tracks, but a reflection of a life spent searching, dancing, promoting, and connecting through music without borders.
