This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re joined by Dr. Becky Kennedy (Good Inside) for a conversation we are SO GLAD we had two days before welcoming baby #2.

This episode is basically a crash course in all things new siblings, starting with how to prep your existing child(ren), what to do during the first meeting, and how to manage things once you’re finally home.

First, she level sets something we think every parent needs to hear: the goal is not raising the world’s most thrilled big sibling on day one (because... that’s just not a thing lol). With that in mind, Dr. Becky shares practical tips (that take all of 15 seconds) to ACTUALLY help prep your toddler for a new baby.

Then we get into the first meeting itself: hospital or house? Gift or no gift? Job or no job? And she covers toddler reactions during this intro that can feel super alarming, but are often completely expected.

And then we get into sibling dynamics... what to do in those very glamorous moments when everyone is crying and nobody wants to share mom, and why trying to be “fair” can actually be the thing CAUSING sibling rivalry.

OK hi guys - this is Jules!!! Here’s the rundown for today: Harrison is in the host chair for a newborn Q&A, so first of all, THANK YOU to everyone who submitted question (@Harrison how are my manners??). Alex joined by phone from bed with baby Rocky, and YES, we are aware the sound quality is giving “speakerphone in the trenches” at first... but we promise it gets better around the 14-minute mark lol.

We get into Rocky’s birth story from Harrison’s perspective, why this delivery was night-and-day from the first one, how Alex is doing postpartum, and why they ended up staying at the hospital longer than expected. 

Then Harrison answers YOUR questions: Rocky’s full name, the other baby boy names they almost picked, the nicknames already starting to happen, and the completely bizarre phenomenon where your first child somehow comes home looking five years older overnight. He also talks about how they introduced Tate to Rocky, how she’s adjusting so far, and what they’re most excited about as she steps into big sister life. Plus, whether having a boy feels any different than having a girl, whether Harrison cried when Rocky was born, and his advice for dads in the delivery room.

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we recorded the night before induction day for baby boy… and also we got married!!! (That’s it.. that’s the description hahahaha but if you need more info ⬇️)

In true Two Parents fashion, this episode is a mix of (very big) life updates, a little video diary to ourselves (we ran back the same questions we answered the night before Tate was born), and, randomly, a full discussion about a first-date dealbreaker (something about bringing your own cutlery?!).

This week on Two PARENTS & A Podcast, we have the parenting heavy episode you guys have been asking for :) With baby #2 coming in T-2 days, we’re revisiting all the newborn decisions that hit at once (that also happen to be some of the most loaded topics on the internet). So we rapid-fire (if 30+ mins can be considered rapid-fire) through the big ones: letting a newborn cry, co-sleeping, formula vs. breastfeeding, vaccinating on schedule, sleep training before 4 months, visitors in the first week, taking a newborn out in public early, feeding on demand, kissing the baby, and who should actually be getting up in the middle of the night. 

Before that, we get into Bicker of the Week x2 (turning off a show in the middle + fruit flies), when kids learn their parents’ first names (like does anyone actually know this answer??), and the very rude reminder that the last week of pregnancy is its own full-body (and mind) experience. This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we are LOCKED IN on Coachella Weekend 1.
