TO S2E9 - The Map of Moments
It’s family reunion time, and what better time for that than Christmas aka bonfire season! We finally see Klaus and Hayley visit baby Hope and oh it fills the heart! We also go back to 1914 to see what (and who) led to Kol’s most recent daggering, and meet a couple witches with a new spooky location. Finn confirms his true hatred for vampires, while Kol confirms his allegiance to his current alliance. Rebekah decides it is time to take down Esther, and works with Klaus on a plan. Meanwhile, Hayley and Elijah get a night to themselves before Hayley gets ready to go through with this magic marriage. We check in with Rebekah this week for the first time since hiding away with baby Hope and - uh oh - starlings are checking in on her too! At the compound, Klaus works with Marcel to convince Koleb and Finncent to reconsider alliances. Davina, annoyed at Kol’s kidnapping, actually does put Klaus down, but then immediately gets a taste of the mercurial Mikaelson brotherly bond. Elijah heads out to intercept Rebekah and baby Hope, but his Lady Macbeth vibe freaks Rebekah out. Meanwhile, Hayley finds a way to protect the wolves, and it involves a wedding and (of course) an ancient ritual that seems suspicious at best. With Elijah still in captivity, Klaus decides to hunt him down and finds himself looking for a mysterious orchid with Ansel, who tries to bond and make up for 1,000 years of not being a father. Hayley wants to go after Esther, but instead acts like a real Mikaelson and instead goes after what Esther loves. She recruits Marcel, Cami, and Aiden to pull one over on Finncent, and Cami’s all-time manipulation performance continues. Meanwhile, Davina and Koleb work on a spell in a long sealed steampunk mausoleum, Kol reveals his long-held passion for magic, and we weigh the difficult decision of whether or not to ship. Elijah finally wakes up, worried about lingering nightmares, but overall thrilled that other people got some work done while he was out. Speaking of Klaus’s father, he turns up in the bayou with the long-missing Jackson, who was NOT kidnapped. Ansel and Hayley help to reunite Oliver with Jackson, so they can catch up one final time. Meanwhile in the Quarter, Cami is suspicious of Finncent and plays him like a fiddle, with an assist from Marcel and Gia.
