A down-on-his-luck, unemployed narrator who visits a localpark to escape his misery, only to encounter two mysterious, bloated childrenin vintage raincoats—a girl and a boy. After the girl leaves a permanent black,finger-shaped stain on his sleeve and briefly appears in his car, the boyreveals a terrifying vision under his hat, subjecting the narrator to ahorrifying trance of hellish noises, rotting scents, and visions of death.
Although the girl pulls the narrator free from the trance,allowing him to escape, he returns home to find the dark mark permanentlytransferred onto his skin and grows consumed by visions of the children; unableto break free from the haunting experience, he ultimately decides to return tothe park to confront his doom.

Upon breaking into Wesley's trailer, Tommy finds no evidence of murder, but instead a lonely, traumatized man haunted by his own terrifying encounter with a shadowy figure near the creek. The true killer is eventually revealed to be their neighbor, Farmer Ronny, whose barn hides a fresh victim and whose property contains several shallow graves; however, Ronny claims he was driven to commit the acts by an ancient, corrupting voice emanating from the land itself.
Even after Ronny's arrest and life sentence, Tommy and his grandmother remain convinced that the serial murders were merely the work of a supernatural entity using weak men as its host, leaving an enduring fear of the dark woods passed down through generations.

a down-on-his-luck man named Timothy Shinholster gets laid off from his job, worsening his severe financial struggles with his wife and family. While drowning his sorrows at a local bar, he meets a mysterious stranger named John Black, who offers him a strange wooden box equipped with a backward-running clock and a handle.
Black claims the device can alter reality if Tim utters a wish before turning the handle; sarcastically, Tim wishes for "all his bad decisions to be undone." Upon turning the handle, reality dramatically shifts: Tim finds himself elevated to Senior Vice President at his company, driving a luxury car, and residing in a high-end penthouse apartment with a beautiful new partner.
However, he soon suffers the devastating realization that by undoing all his past decisions, he erased his marriage and his two children from existence entirely leaving him trapped in a superficial life without the family he truly loved.
