Where's Helen, and Who Wants to Know?

    30.07.2026 | 21 Min.
Helen has been missing in action, as far as her family is concerned, and they are concerned, so they decide to hunt her down in her lair, so to speak. This week's episode features guest artists John Warner as Jonathan, Christopher McDougal as Charlie and Erica Sanderson as Susie. Just a wee reminder: we are totally unfunded by external sources, so I'm only able to paythese actors a pittance, believe you me. So if you'd like to help support them, why not drop a fiver or just $1, in buymeacoffee.com/amIoldyet, or you could become a patron over at Patreon.com/amIoldyet and we will all be hugely, hugely grateful.
Could you please just drop a rating and/or a few words of review wherever you're getting your podcasts, or you can do it over on my website, amIoldyet.com. There's a whole page there for people to drop their comments. You can even leave a voice note over there. How about that? I'd love to hear your voices. Yeah, that would be really cool. And if you do get over to Patreon.com and you decide to become a Patreon, one of the perks of doing that, apart from ad-free access to all the episodes, is to name a character, create a new character for me to bring within Helen's milieu, as they say,

    The Art of Wittering

    02.07.2026 | 23 Min.
Helen hasn't been all that productive since her accident (Season 12), and her oldest friend and ex publisher/boss Joey (from college days in the 1960s) challenges her to try something different. Instead of writing life affirming poems about the natural world, why not create a horror story? Everybody else is doing it, after all...
Episode 4 of Season 13, "The Art of Wittering". I admit, I thought of the title when I was writing Scene 1, and then it took off in an entirely different direction, but I haven't been able to let go of that title. Let me know if you have a better idea, I'd love to hear it.
This episode was written, performed and produced by me Flloyd Kennedy. The music is composed and performed by John T La Barbera, from his album "In the Labyrinth", available on Bandcamp.
If you're enjoying this nonsense, and you'd like to help support our production costs, you can donate, or subscribe at Patreon.com/amIoldyet, or at buymeacoffee.com/amIoldyet. It helps to pay the guest actors and to cover the cost of the recording equipment.

    Something to Say

    01.05.2026 | 30 Min.
Helen needs to start going out again, picking up the threads of her life, so she has signed up to one of her granddaughter Susie's writing workshops. This results in a bit of soul searching, a smidgeon of philosophising, and a dash of ponderings on the writing process.
    The cast is
    Erika Sanderson as Susie
    Andrea Richardson as Angela
    Ted Gray as the janitor
    Flloyd Kennedy as Helen.
The music is by John T La Barbera, from his album "In the Labyrinth
as well as Helen's themes from Season 12.

Über Am I Old Yet? — Comedy audio drama
A coming-of-age, slice of life, audio fiction comedy with a difference. Our ageing heroine shares senior moments, family relationships and adventures—entertaining and a wee bit provocative. In Season 6 some ancient Greek deities choose her to 'save the planet' - if she only knew what her superpower was. By Season 13, she has settled into semi-retirement, but still up for adventures. Written, performed and produced by Aussie-born, Liverpool-based actress, singer-songwriter and performance poet Flloyd Kennedy with guest performers on 3 continents. Please support the podcast - you can subscribe at Patreon.com/amIoldyet.★★★★★ "This is delightful storytelling from Flloyd Kennedy. Gentle but deceptively sharp; underestimate the characters populating this podcast at your own peril. The writing, performance and music are all a joy."
